Help plant trees at CYD Animal Welfare Shelter

The association CYD is an animal welfare centre that takes in mistreated and abandoned horses in terrible condition, and helps them recover. This winter has been particularly hard and there has been damage to the finca, and some horses have suffered terribly.

They are organising an ‘Eco-day’ on Sunday 25 April to help prepare for summer. The main objective is to plant trees at least 2 metres tall so that they can survive the high temperatures and provide shade for the weakest animals. The trees have played a vital role at the centre creating enough shade for the animals to relax under. The horses must get out every day but some cannot move very well due to age or injuries and must rest every few metres.

There are two ways you can help with this important project:

1. Sponsor a tree at CYD - give a horse some shade. For just 30€ you can have a tree planted at the horse sanctuary in YOUR name and help the recovering animals get some much needed cool shade suring the summer months. We will be buying as many trees as possible to plant on our eco-day on Sunday April 25 and your help is appreciated. You can make payment by transfer to: Unicaja 2103 3016 93 0030020269 (La Chispa) and please put as the 'concepto' your name + tree sponsor. Alternatively payment can be made in person at Venta dos Caballos on the Cartama-Coín road. Please leave an envelope with your name and contact number.

2. Come along to the Eco-Day and lend a hand planting!
